Last week I proposed an open-ended question to my fellow graduate students at ITP. I left a stack of pre-addressed, postage-paid postcards on a table along with the question “I [don’t] get involved with politics because...”
Along with the prompt I left a bucket of candy bribes and a series of simple directions to take some candy, write a response (anything—words, a sketch, etc.) and to drop the postcard in a mailbox.
I refilled the bucket and replenished the postcards as needed, and at some point decided that wholesome apples would be a more appropriate bribe. The responses I’ve received so far have been wonderful, although not always in response to the prompt itself. Thanks to those who participated!
